Vendr 2021 Roadmap Survey - The Results

Over the last 12 months since the launch of Vendr at the end of March last year, we’ve made a number of new feature releases and improvements and we’re keen carry on honing the product to be the go-to eCommerce product for Umbraco. So, with that in mind, we put together a list of some features we’d like to add, as well as those suggested on our issue tracker, and created a quick poll survey.

This was where you lovely lot came in. We asked you for your opinion on what, of the listed items, you’d like to see implemented first, which would make a difference to the way you and your clients work with Vendr.

The results are in.

Firstly, thank you so much to all of you who took the time to vote in our Vendr 2021 Roadmap survey, it’s greatly appreciated. Here’s the list of features we’ll implement, in order of popularity, taken from the weighted average of your votes:

  1. Order exporting/printing
  2. Advanced back office order searching
  3. Back office cart creation/editing
  4. Order partial refunds support
  5. Orders context app in members section
  6. Discount templates for common discount configurations

As mentioned in our last blog post, our roadmap won’t have specific delivery dates for each of the above listed enhancements as our aim is to deliver them over the course of the next 12 months. This allows us a level of flexibility to implement them along side other items already planned, such as alternative payment options, a loyalty scheme and the ability to purchase an upgrade licence.

We also have to be mindful of the upcoming .Net Core changes to Umbraco, which we’re following with great interest, to learn when and how we need to make the required changes to Vendr. Once we’re on a roll with that we’ll be sure to keep you all updated and may put a call out for some testers, after all, we want to make sure we get this right.

With all that said, we’ve already made good progress on the first product enhancement, Order Exporting/Printing. This will be released pretty soon, so keep your eyes peeled.

We hope you’re as excited as we are for our new features and improvements, and the future of Vendr. The next 12 months look set to keep us busy and we hope that means you will be too, building Umbraco eCommerce websites with Vendr for your clients.
