Vendr 2.0.0 RC brings bug fixes and the latest Umbraco v9 RC2 support to our next Vendr version. Find out all you need to know about this release and how you can get your hands on it.
As we blogged last month, we've made some real progress on getting Vendr .NET Core ready and that momentum has not stopped.
Today we are pleased to announce the first release of a Vendr 2.0.0 Release Candidate.
Over the past few weeks we've done a lot of testing and fixing of bugs both we and the community have found. We are very happy that what we have is getting really close to a final release and anything we do now shouldn't cause any big API changes. As such, we have made the decision to progress straight to an RC.
As well a general bug fixes, we have also upgraded our dependencies for Vendr v2 to the latest Umbraco RC2 release and have done checks and tweaks to make sure everything continues to work as expected. We've also updated our Vendr v2 demo store implementation to also run on Umbraco RC2 so you can test out everything for yourselves.
We will continue to test Vendr v2 further and we would really appreciate feedback on our issue tracker should you find any issues in your own testing. As well as further testing, we'll also be making a start at porting over the various add-on packages / payment providers too. If you've made you own payment provider and would like to know how to port that over, you can check out our Stripe provider to see what has changed, as we have already ported this.
If developers have any questions on implementing the changes from the alpha, these should be asked on the Umbraco developer portal support forums.
Yes. With Vendr v2 moving into an RC phase we are pretty confident that what we have is pretty close to the finished product and as such we don't expect to be making any major changes prior to release. Of course, we will continue to monitor Umbraco v9 RC releases and make any changes necessary to stay up to date. As such, there may still be minor changes made before the official release.
We will be aiming to release Vendr v2 as soon as possible after the official Umbraco release. Unfortunately we don't have a fixed date for this yet, but we feel it just wouldn't make sense to release it any sooner whilst changes are still being made in Umbraco.
As always, be sure to follow us on Twitter or join our mailing list to stay up to date on the latest announcements.
Thanks for reading,
Team Vendr.
